well, not back, but sort of back!
I had to take a small break from publishing due to life and health and overwhelm and the need to let my new creative conflagration settle into a more sustained and sustainable hearth fire I can work with WITHIN the life I have rn.
Ah, sustainability always for the win!!!
Without further ado, I am THRILLED to intro you to the newest episode, freak flag ep 4!

It is my GREAT pleasure to introduce you to the true love of my blessed life: SHAWN PATRICK BOYD. He’s got some real-world cred I’ll share below, and he’s also my husband, and the writer and creator of a REALLY COOL f’ing graphic novel series!
Shawn Patrick Boyd is a writer and actor who has appeared in TV & film. As a longtime copywriter, he’s written ad campaigns for big brands including Target and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He currently lives in Santa Fe, NM, but his family keeps trying to lure him back to the woods and waters of Minnesota.
Various topics/points we touched on (as usual—IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER):
his graphic novel series Winona Forever, and how it came about, starting as a screenplay and then morphing into a graphic novel
“it’s only in retrospect that life makes sense,” plus how life is like a forest or a maze, and why that’s actually cool
the importance and value of experience, age and more years in our life for stories and storytelling
how creating for the pure pleasure and joy of creating becomes its own positive feedback loop
how it seems like some (or all?) creations have souls and agendas of their own
why “follow your curiousity” is often easier and less pressure than “follow your passion”
his tips for someone who wants to get started writing but doesn’t know where to start
